These are some important points about the Chapter 11 Transportation in Animals and Plants of Class 7 Science NCERT.

Here is the Solution Of Textbook Questions of Chapter 11 Transportation in Animals and Plants.
Exercise Questions-

Ques 1. Match structures given in Column I with functions given in Column II.
Column I                           Column II
i)Stomata.                        a) Absorption of water  ii)Xylem.                           b) Transpiration
iii)Root hairs.                  c) Transport of food
iv)Phloem.                        d) Transport of water

Ans. a) Transpiration
b) Transport of water
c) Absorption of water
d)Transport of water

Ques 2. Fill in the blanks:-
i)The blood from the heart is transported to all parts of the body by the _________
ii) Haemoglobin is present in ___________
iii)Arteries and veins are joined by a network of __________
iv)The rhythmic expansion and contraction of the heart is called ___________
v)The main excretory product in human beings is ___________
vi)Sweat contains water and _________
vii) Kidneys eliminate the waste materials in the liquid form called _________
viii) Water reaches great heigts in the trees because of suction pull caused by_________

Ans.i) arteries
ii) red blood
iii) capillary
iv) heartbeat
v) urea
vi) salt
vii) urine
viii) transpiration

Ques 3. Choose the correct option:-
a) In plants, water is transported through
i)stem
ii)phloem
iii)stomata
iv)root hair
Ans. Xylem

b)Water absorption through roots can be increased by keeping the plants.
i)in the shade
ii) in dim light
iii)under the fan.
iv)covered with a polythene bag
Ans. Under the fan

Ques 4. Why is transport of material necessary in a plant or in an animal? Explain.
Ans. Hence, transport of materials is necessary for the proper growth and development of plants and animals.

Ques 5. What will happen if there are no platelets in the blood?
Ans. Blood  platelets are one of the components of blood that help in the clotting of blood. They are a source of thromboplastin which is necessary for the clotting of blood. The absence  of platelets in the blood could lead to excessive bleeding and loss of blood.

Ques 6.What are stomata? Give two functions as stomata?
Ans. The stomata are tiny pores present on the surface of leaves. The functions of stomata are:-
a) Exchange of gases such as Carbon dioxide and oxygen.
b) Help in evaporation of excess water from leaf surface by Transportation.

Ques 7. Does transpirtation serve any useful function in the plants? Explain.
Ans. Transpirtation is the evaporation of excess water from the surface of a leaf, through the stomata.
Transpirtation  produces a cooling effect and thus  saves the plant from the hot sun. The evaporation of water from leaves generates a transpirtational pull or section forces that can pull water from the roots to the top of the tree.

Ques 8. What are the components of blood?
Ans. Blood is fluid connective  tissue.
The components of blood are:-
1)Red blood cell(RBC)
2)White Blood Cells (WBC)
3) Platelets (thrombocytes)
All that cells are suspended in fluid called plasma.

Ques 9. Why is blood needed by all the parts of a body?
Ans. Blood, helps in transportation of digested food, gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide, hormones and water to all parts of the body.
It helps in the removal of waste materials to be excreted from the body. It also helps in protecting the body from infection and diseases.
Blood helps the body at a uniform temperature.

Ques 10. What makes the blood look red?
Ans. Blood looks bright red due to the presence of an iron rich pigment called haemoglobin in red blood cells.

Ques 11. Describe the function of the heart.
Ans. The heart is a muscular pumping organ that functions to circulate blood in the body. The human heart is four chambered heart. There are  two upper chambers called atria and two lower  chambers called  ventricles. Deoxygenated bluish red blood  blood  from different parts  of the body  is brought  to the right ventricles  for purification after oxygenation. After oxygenation in the lungs, pure blood is carried to the left atrium  and to the left ventricle. The left ventricle supplies pure blood to different parts of the body.

Ques 12. Why is it necessary to excrete waste products?
Ans. During life's activities, the body produces a variety of materials that are not required within the body, they need to be pushed out as metabolic wastes. If these wastes are not removed from the body, they may became toxic and may lead to a diseased condition.
Hence, it is necessary in excrete waste products.

Ques 13. Draw a diagram of the human excretory system and label the variously parts.
Ans.
